I Like to Move It, Move It

Sean and I have this big move from Alabama to North Carolina coming up, and, as to be expected, I'm very excited. We're looking at houses and imagining how our furniture would look against dark red walls or fuchsia carpets (terrible, I'd guess). And as the days are (surprisingly) flying by, I'm getting very nervous about this big move looming in the future.

There are many things different about this big move compared to the big move down to Alabama a year ago. And yes, all of those many things are now sitting in our house: dishes, appliances, furniture, decorations, cat toys, books, plants, even food! When, where and how have we acquired all of this stuff?? A year ago, we had less than half of the stuff we have now. I remember when we first moved in we had one chair to share between the two of us for almost a month and our TV stand was an Avon box. We've worked so hard to get the things we have, but I'm soooo dreading packing it up and moving it all.

And to top it off, I have nothing in which to pack our things! I feel as though I should have never thrown a single box away because now we have to purchase/weasel all of our packing supplies including newspapers, bubble wrap, and tape.

I know, I know. What about the Army? Don't they come in and pack all of your stuff for you and move it? Yes they do. But, like many others before us, we will be doing a DITY (Do It Yourself) move, where the Army will pay us - a lot - to move it on our own. I just feel so overwhelmed when I look around our house. I feel I should begin packing NOW, 2 months before the move.
