I bought these shoes in (July?) 2007 and they have been my trusty go-to girls ever since. They've carried me to job interviews, nights out on the town, and even church functions for nearly three years. Notice how the tips are worn out and gray - I have to put black polish on them every time I wear them. The sides are bulged out, the inside lining where the balls of my feel fall are worn out, and the metal is more than peeking through the heel. They're not even really black anymore. These shoes are so comfortable, but lets not kid ourselves: they've seen much better days.
Meet the new:
I got these yesterday from one of my favorite stores in the world, Maurices. Sean promised me new black shoes if I landed a second interview with the bank, and I did, so when we were out shopping for more interview clothes (they saw me in what I had already, you know? That's the problem with second interviews, haha) I saw these affordable babies and fell in love. My favorite part isn't the bow and it isn't the cut-out (which, I'll admit, drew me to the shoes in the first place); it's the colorful lining. Isn't that saucy? They're beautiful on my feet, even with the tiniest bit of toe cleavage. But as with all new, beautiful shoes, they need to be broken in. That's the very un-fun part.
I feel very sad that my relationship with my trusty black heels is drawing to a close. I feel as if I'm betraying the shoes that have stood by me so well for so many years. I've been with these shoes longer than I've been with my husband! At the same time... whoo hoo! New, cute heels :)
LOVE them! they are saucy!
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty...wish I could still wear shoes like that.
